The Jinjuseong August 15 Liberation Day Festival is a festival to commemorate Korea’s independence. Held at Jinjuseong, this festival celebrates Korea’s independence through various events such as the Liberation Day ceremony, parades, performances, exhibitions, and food markets, and provides joy to citizens.
The Liberation Day Ceremony will be held at Jinjuseong from 10:00 am. About 10,000 people from the government, local governments, civic groups, and citizens are expected to attend the ceremony. The President, the Prime Minister, the Speaker of the National Assembly, the Chief Justice of the Supreme Court, the President of the Constitutional Court, and the National Election Commission will attend the ceremony and deliver congratulatory remarks.
The parade departs from Jinjuseong at 11:00 am and returns to Jinjuseong after going around the city. In the parade, civic organizations, citizens, and students participate in various events.
The performance will be held at Jinjuseong from 2:00 PM. Performances of various genres such as Korean traditional music, songs, musicals, and plays are held.
The exhibition is held at Jinjuseong from 10:00 am to 6:00 pm. The exhibition features a variety of works including photographs, paintings and sculptures commemorating Korea’s independence.
The food market is held at Jinjuseong from 10:00 am to 6:00 pm. In the food market, traditional Korean food and various foods are sold.
