Big Bang X Blackpink Meet… Daesung Says “It’s a Bit Ambiguous Relationship with Rosé” (‘Jipdaesung’)
On the 5th, a video titled “Living Life, I See the Meeting of Big Bang and Blackpink” was uploaded on the YouTube channel ‘Jipdaesung.’
On that day, Daesung talked about his relationship with Rosé, who was also part of YG Entertainment, saying, “It’s a bit ambiguous. We’ve been together for a long time, but because we’re both busy, we don’t have many memories together.” He added, “The only memory I have is when Blackpink was a rookie, and I was in Japan for their activities, so we met then. But it’s not like we’re not close either,” as he contemplated how to navigate the interview.
When Rosé made her appearance, Daesung warmly welcomed her and immediately transformed into an MC. When Rosé mentioned that Daesung didn’t know the proper ratio for making soju beer, she said, “You don’t know how to make it? That’s surprising,” and proceeded to make some. She added, “My mom is going to scold me. She told me not to drink like this on TV.” Nevertheless, Rosé expressed excitement, saying, “But this is the first time I’m drinking in Korea.”
Regarding their recent meeting, Daesung said, “After the filming was confirmed, we saw each other at an event in Incheon. Thankfully, she asked for my number first.” Rosé replied, “Maybe because everyone was a bit tipsy, we didn’t act too close. You gave me advice, and I thought it was really good advice. We texted each other a couple of times.” Rosé particularly mentioned, “I specifically said I’d come out here. Since we were at the same company, I thought it would be fun.”
When asked about her alcohol tolerance, Rosé hesitated, realizing there were many acquaintances present at the filming location. She said, “I’m the type to stay until the end. I clean up when I get home after drinking.”
Rosé then described her routine: “When I wake up, I wonder if someone came over. I put the flowers I received in a vase and even sort the recycling before I sleep. I also charge my phone and prepare the clothes I’ll wear the next day. Isn’t that scary?” Reflecting on the reason for this, Rosé explained, “When I drink, I feel happy and become like a 4-year-old. So, I end up doing the homework I’ve been putting off.”
Solo Artist Rosé from Blackpink Confesses She Suffered from Shingles Due to Extreme Stress
Rosé, a member of the group Blackpink who has embarked on a solo career, confessed that she once suffered from shingles due to extreme stress. In an appearance on the YouTube channel ‘Jipdaesung’ on the 5th, Rosé revealed, “I got shingles during the COVID-19 pandemic,” explaining, “I was worried, ‘What if no one looks for Blackpink? What will I do with my life moving forward?’”
She continued, “Since I was sixteen, I’ve lived my life wanting to be a singer, and I thought, ‘At this age, I might become someone who loses their job,’” sharing her struggles at that time.
When Daesung asked, “Did you get shingles because of that stress?” Rosé replied, “Yes. This is the first time I’m talking about this, but I’ve also experienced depression. It’s like a cold for the heart,” conveying her distress.
Shingles with Band-Shaped Blisters on the Skin
Shingles, which Rosé has had, is a disease that occurs when the varicella-zoster virus, which lies dormant in the bodies of those who have had chickenpox or received the chickenpox vaccine, reactivates when the immune system is weakened.
The condition is characterized by rashes and band-shaped blisters on the skin. While it primarily appears on the chest, it can occur anywhere on the body, including the arms, legs, buttocks, and face. It is known to be a painful disease, with severe pain even from a mere touch of clothing.
Complications Are Also Fearsome
Postherpetic neuralgia, which occurs in 10-40% of shingles patients, is a chronic pain that can develop after shingles treatment, indicating that pain persists even after a month has passed since the skin rashes appeared. It is more likely to occur in older individuals or those with weakened immune systems.
Treatment Must Start Within 72 Hours of Symptom Onset
Timing is crucial for shingles treatment. Symptoms should be treated within 72 hours to lower the risk of complications. If a line of rashes appears on the skin, one should suspect shingles and seek medical attention immediately. Antiviral treatment is necessary.
Most skin lesions heal within 2-3 weeks with medication. For postherpetic neuralgia, treatment can include medication and nerve block therapy to address damaged nerves, with recovery expected within 1-3 months.
To prevent shingles, it is important to boost the immune system. Avoiding extreme stress, physical fatigue, overwork, and chronic fatigue, which can weaken immunity, is vital. Maintaining a balanced diet and engaging in regular exercise to build physical strength is also important.
In particular, for seniors over 60 or those with underlying conditions, the shingles vaccine can be beneficial. Vaccination is known to lead to a milder case of shingles and lower the risk of complications.
